Featuring the green colour variants of Proton e.MAS 5, Proton e.MAS 7 and Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, showcasing practical EV solutions and the potential to avoid up to 80,000–100,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually through electrified mobility adoption

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 May 2026 – PRO-NET, a wholly owned subsidiary of PROTON Holdings Berhad, is set to showcase the “green” Proton e.MAS line-up at the upcoming KL Car Free Morning, bringing its electric mobility solutions closer to the public in a vibrant, community-driven setting.

Taking place in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the event will feature the Proton e.MAS 5 (Jade Green) Proton e.MAS 7 (Turquoise Green) and Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV (Emerald Green) with their striking green exteriors symbolising the brand’s commitment towards sustainability and environmentally-conscious mobility.

Speaking on the initiative, Pn. Salawati Binti Mohd Yusoff, said: “KL Car Free Morning is a meaningful platform for us to connect with Malaysians in a setting that reflects the importance of sustainable living. Through the Proton e.MAS line-up, we want to demonstrate how electric mobility can be practical, accessible and relevant to everyday needs.”

“By showcasing all our three models with its green colours, we are reinforcing our commitment towards supporting a cleaner future, while making it easier for more Malaysians to take their first step towards EV ownership,” Pn. Salawati added.

Driving Awareness for Greener Everyday Mobility

KL Car Free Morning provides an ideal platform for Proton e.MAS to engage directly with Malaysians in a setting that promotes healthier and more sustainable urban living. By bringing its EV line-up into this environment, PRO-NET aims to demonstrate how electric vehicles can seamlessly fit into everyday lifestyles while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

This commitment is aligned with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which targets net-zero emissions by 2050 and 70% electrified vehicle adoption by the same year. As part of this transition, PRO-NET continues to advance cleaner mobility solutions, with Proton e.MAS having delivered more than 20,000 vehicles to date. Based on illustrative estimates, these EVs could potentially help avoid around 80,000–100,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to taking up to 20,000 petrol cars off the road for a year.

Each model in the Proton e.MAS line-up reflects a different approach to modern mobility. From the affordable and practical Proton e.MAS 5, to the refined and spacious Proton e.MAS 7, and the flexible dual-powered Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, which offers an extended range of capability for longer journeys.

A Greener Proton e.MAS for a Greener Malaysia

The green exterior finishes for the Proton e.MAS line-up were introduced earlier this year, reflecting strong interest and positive response from consumers and netizens alike. The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV in Emerald Green first debuted in April 2026, while the Proton e.MAS 5 in Jade Green launched at the Penang Auto Show on 1 May 2026. The Proton e.MAS 7 in Turquoise Green, meanwhile, is an existing colour within the line-up.

The green exteriors reflect more than a visual design choice as they also align with growing consumer interest in the colour green. Beyond its association with sustainability, green has increasingly resonated with audiences as a symbol of freshness, progress, and future-ready technology.

Members of the public are invited to catch a glimpse of the three Proton e.MAS models at KL Car Free Morning this Sunday, 24 May 2026, at Dataran DBKL from 7.00am to 9.00am, to experience the Proton e.MAS line-up up close and learn more about how electric mobility can fit seamlessly into their daily lifestyles.
